So what is Vital Series: Mallets

Hey fam! Back with another dose of Big Fish for you, this time it is something for the mallet lovers.

The idea behind the Vital Series is to provide easy to use, yet highly detailed libraries that are useful for all types of music production.

The first of the series is Mallets…and it covers a huge range of instrument types as well as playing style.

In fact, there are 8 different instruments covered, each with their own options.  Of course you get access to fx, and modulation for full creativity and flexibility.

Quick Specs

How does it sound?

I love a good mallet sound, I actually own an glockenspiel and would love to have some more actual mallet instruments.

However, the sound in this library definitely quenches my appetite for the mallet sound, the detail and responsiveness of the instruments are very inspiring.

Each instrument on its own sounds incredible, and when you start layering them together you can come up with sounds that you normally wouldn’t do with a single instrument.

The ability to add modulation and fx quickly also aids in the sound quality as well as the creativity available with this library.

Overall the sound is very rich, detailed, and responsive. Each mallet type responds differently, and even enabled the “noise” on some of the instruments sounds great!

So what’s the bottom line?

If you’re looking for a super flexible, detailed collection of mallet instruments then you should most definitely check this out.

I give Vital Series Mallets 4.5 out of 5 subs, there really is enough flexibility to keep you busy and allow you to call up pretty much any type of mallet sound you desire…as well as ones you didn’t know existed thanks to the layering and fx!

I really dig the interface, it’s just so clean and easy to navigate while still giving you the power to explore your own creativity.
