Yo what’s good fam!
Got another new product from Sample Logic.
This one is dedicated to Atmospheres…so you know I was HIGHLY interested.
Let’s check it.
So what is XOSPHERE?
It’s a brand new library dedicated to creating atmospheres and soundscapes.
There’s a bunch of ways you can layer the sounds, as well as automate, modulate, and animate them to create plenty of movement.
Everything is housed in a really slick custom interface that allows creativity and quick exploration.
This is a tool made for those atmosphere lovers out there, like myself, who can never get enough evolving audio goodness.
Quick Specs
- content: 350+ atmospheres, 5.28GB
- format: Kontakt Player 5, Kontakt 5
- price: $299 ($249 preorder before 11/20/14)
- purchase: https://www.samplelogic.com/products/xosphere/ref/4/?campaign=sag
So how does it sound?
As a lover of all types of atmospheres, this sounds like sweet candy to my ears!
The layering is so complex and the sounds are so evolving that holding down a single note generates some very awesome tones.
Beyond the presets, the way you can tweak, manipulate, animate, and customize your sounds is very quick and most of all FUN.
The engine is not just powerful, but it’s very inviting, which is always good because you can come up with so many ideas on the fly.
I really dig being able to step animate the convolution on each oscillator, that really changes the dynamic of a sound instantly.
The sound overall is very organic which gives a much different sound compared to a full synth based product.
Of course, this is the type of stuff I enjoy, I feel it just gives you a warm fuzzy tone compared to something that is only based on synthesis.
The fact that they take that type of organic content, mix it with synthesis and pack it all into a single interface with full control over the sound really opens the doors of creativity.
In the end, it all adds up to a very enjoyable sound.
What’s the bottom line?
As if you didn’t already know?
Anyone that’s been watching my reviews for any amount of time knows that I’m totally in love with this product, it features some of my favorite type of sounds, with a very clean and tweakable interface.
I give XOSPHERE 5 out of 5 subs of course, it sounds great, it sounds fresh, and it encourages you to create your own new sounds which is definitely huge plus.
Lately Sample Logic has been on fire! Each time they come with a new idea or interface, I think it’s there best to date, and then they continue to build and innovate with the next product.
Being the lover of atmospheres I am, this is easily my favorite product from them…I don’t even know what else they could do beyond this, besides another one dedicated exclusively to pads
Seriously though, you can call me biased, call me a fan boy, whatever you feel the need to label me as, I’m a huge fan of what they are doing and this product is truly inspiring for my personal tastes in music creation.
