Hey what’s up fam, hope all is well with ya this week
Today I’m checking out a new collection of presets called Massive Darkscore III for NI Massive
Let’s get into it!
So what is Massive Darkscore III?
It’s the third part in a series of ambient, cinematic, evolving, soundscape style patches for Native Instruments Massive.
You may remember me doing a review on Massive Darkscore II, if not, check it out as well
The product is 128 patches from Matt Bowlder and they definitely give Massive a nice smooth airy sound.
I’m always curious to see what this guy does with his patches because he has such a nice way of pulling evolving soundscapes out of the synth.
- content: 128 .nmsv patches
- format: Massive 1.3
- price: £14.99 (about $22 usd)

So how does it sound?
Once again Matt delivers a collection of sounds and patches that you’d expect to hear out of Absynth or Omnisphere and not Massive.
However they sound great, with plenty of control to tweak the sound and add various levels of movement and animation.
There are some nice sequences, smooth pads, evolving soundscapes, and sharp synths.
Again these sounds lean more towards a cinematic style, which I personally love, as it gives me something that Massive isn’t generally known for.
I like the level of detail in the sounds, and I love being able to tweak the macros just to see what’s going to happen.
So what’s the bottom line?
Do you have Massive? Do you like evolving pads, soundscapes, and cinematic patches?
Go get Darkscore III…really.
The number of patches you get for the price is awesome, but not as awesome as the ability to turn Massive in to a smooth ambient sound generation device!
I give Massive Darkscore III a 4.5 out of 5 subs, really great sounds with plenty of tweakability.
So head on over and check it out: http://www.theunfinished.co.uk/massive-darkscore-iii/
