With the release of the Yamaha MODX, one of the first questions I and others had was does it sound the same as the Montage, since it has the same synth engines?
I knew that the libraries were identical, and that sound data was compatible, but do the included instruments sound the same coming off of both units?
Further more, is there a noticeable difference between the Montage with it’s Pure Analog Circuit output and the MODX which doesn’t have it?
Well, I went through a few of the piano sounds in this video, playing the same patches on each synth, to see what’s what.
I’d love to hear your own thoughts or experiences if you’ve played with both.
No matter how you look at it, you can’t go wrong with either one of these synths. While they are definitely aimed at different users and situations, you can get the job done with either.
