Arturia PolyBrute Brass & String Patch Demo

2

The Arturia PolyBrute has become one of my favorite synths to play and design sounds on. Though I’ve had or used most of the brute line, this one is a bit different. It can be smooth, lush, and delicate if you want, along with getting wild and unhinged!

It can do some cool brass and string sounds. In this video I just go through a few of them to give you an idea of what some of these sort of patches sound like.

I think this is one of the most well laid out synths I’ve ever used. You don’t ever have to go into a menu if you don’t want to. Even if you do dig into a menu, it is still super intuitive.

  1. I have seen a few demoโ€™s of the PolyBrute, and yours is the best, simply because you played nice chords that demonstrated the fatness and power of this synth, which surprised me. Too many players on other demoโ€™s were trying to impress us with their skills of fancy arpeggios etc., mainly in the mid-range, that made the PolyBrute sound thin, which is a real turn off for me.

However, in your demo, by mixing low brass frequencies with high strings, gave us a much better idea of its capabilities, rather than focusing on the mid-range only. Even when demonstrating arpeggios, you opted to use fat sounding patches, that tells me you have life experiences when it comes to sound design, so well done!

    • Thanks for watching! These are the type of sounds that draw me personally which is why I wanted to share them. This is the type of stuff I play and like to design as well. I think when looking at the PolyBrute it may not be evident that it can do these sort of sound, specifically with all the “wild and crazy” stuff it can do. Thanks again for checking it out!
