Vinyl Shots 1 sample library from Thaloops.com review

31

Yo what’s good fam, back with another soundhound for ya

Today I’m checking out a new company, at least new to me, called Thaloops.com

They have some construction kits, drums, loops, etc…but one of the things I dig is they have oneshots/hits.

I like stabs, hits, riffs, etc…even more than loops and such.

So today I’m checking out Vinyl Shots 1

Let’s see what’s good

What is Vinyl Shots 1?

It’s a collection of oneshots, stabs, and hits, with a vinyl sound to them.

Think about the random ย horns, flutes, strings, choirs, keys….

pretty much any other small snippets of sound you would grab from a record

Now imagine you don’t have to use the record and that they come pre formatted for popular formats like kontakt and nnxt

Quick Specs

How does it sound?

dirty…weird…old

It sounds like the funky little riffs and stabs you’d grab from an old record…and yes…it does sound like vinyl.

Did they come from vinyl? Or where they recorded and manipulated to sound this way?

Who knows…and who cares, the sounds are fun to use and that’s all that matters

It has cracks, clicks, and pops…in all the right places

So what’s the bottom line?

I’m new to Thaloops.com, but so far I’m diggin what I hear

This is a creative library perfect for those of us that like to inject a lil dirt into our music now and then.

I also used their Dangerious drums in this review and must say I like the style of acoustic/urban drums…they have a real authentic sound to them but still bring the huge sound urban producers look for.

I give Vinyl Shots 1 4 out of 5 subs, it’s a really useful and creative library that can spark multiple ideas

I would like to see more in this series, maybe some with straight keys, or all strings/horns, or even more orchestra…just bring more dirt yo!

Go on over and checkout their demos and their other stuff, nice little spot over there….you know I’m gonna be checking out more:ย http://www.thaloops.com/vinyl-shots-1

    Hey Joe!

I’m liking these sounds. Medieval sounds are fabulous would work well with Looploft Cineamatic drum samples. Just one little concern as I recognised some of the orchestral sounds. Are these loyalist free samples?

    Ta very much

  2. Grimey analogue sound. It has a appeal to it definitly. It has a real hip hop vibe to it. I think its good that it isnt looped up. Im feelin it. Thanks for the review.

  3. Definitely getting this, this is absolutely sick and the price is great.. These are the type of samples I like. Throw some drums under these samples and then play some chords over it and then you have a sick beat..

  4. I copped mine! Can’t wait to go through all the sounds tonight. Would have loaded them on the iPad, but it takes to long to setup that hokey FTP rig of mine lol.

  5. These would make for good filler/accents pieces. Speaking of which, I recall a review you did way back on a vocal pack (samples from early age radio, etc.) I think it was like $20 +/- but I can’t remember the title or sound design company that put it out. Could you help a brother out with some info.
    Thanks
