Well well, it’s about that time for another look at one of our favorite sample companies.
I’ll admit, there is soooooooo much available from p5audio, I find it hard to figure out which kit I want to review next.
I figured it was time to look at some more drums from them so they sent some over.
So, we’re taking a look at MVP Hitmen drums.
What’s up with these drums?
Well according to the website, mpv hitmen drums are
“With current hard hitting Hip Hop sounds with both Industrial and Euro-pop style influences, this kit delivers pounding drum sounds and fx for dance and urban style production. The MVP Hitmen kit was expertly designed and inspired by a wide variety of producers from Redone to Just Blaze to Kanye West.ย Containing over 400 sounds, this kit includes 60 kicks, 60 snares, 60 hi-hats, 60 hi-hats, 60 percussion elements, 122 sound fx, 10 guitar licks, 10 piano licks and 20 synth stabs and riffs. All sounds are available in both 16 and 24 bit, and have beenย formatted for the following popular software samplers: Reason NN-XT, Kontakt, Battery, Halion, Exs-24 and MPC2500.“
Okay, so ANOTHER drum kit claiming to capture some next level bangin sounds. How many drum kits can you have?
NOT ENUFF!!! Yes, I am a sound hound, a drum fiend, a sample slut…I love having many sounds and my disposal.
Sometimes I find something just right, sometimes I find multiple sources I can mix together into my new masterpiece, whatever it is, I never get tired of sounds.
BUT….
Just because someone says their sounds are bangin, that doesn’t mean they will be.
What do they sound like?
I’ll admit, I was putting off reviewing these drums because they have so many instrument samples.
I was really diggin that and I wasn’t in the mood for disappointment.
But I gotta say, they continue to impress me. I was expecting another “me too” sample kit.
Every time I see a sample kit start name dropping famous producers, I get a lil “uhhhh here were go again”.
But these drums sound pretty good. They have multi levels of sound going on. Not only do they hit hard, but they have good bottom end to.
They definitely are not subtle in any way, and they will fit perfectly well in anything from street anthems, to bangin rnb tracks.
The sound is crips and clean as usual, no clippin, even though these joints can get pretty huge.
Is there a good variety?
Yes. You would expect a lot of overlap with this many sounds, but I will say there isn’t. You never know what you’re going to find, especially with the kicks!
Man I love these kicks…they are so layered with hard hitting kick yo butt goodness.
Percussions, hats, snares, claps, and even lil sample clips and fx…it’s a well rounded kit that can lay the foundation for many tracks.
What’s the verdict?
These drums hit hard, they give you a very solid sound and inspiration that I alway look for. I love to be able to open a new sample kit and just start going to work without having to scroll through the whole library.
I’m gonna roll these out with a 4/5 sub rating.ย Definitely hard hitting, good solid collection of drums here.
Go on over and checkout the mvp hitmen kit demo and see what you think.
Let me know below what you think of the review, trust me, the companies watch the site and the more input we get the more stuff they’ll let me review for ya!

Damn these drums knock. Sound perfect for some gully music, possibly backing an orchestral track.
Yeah man, them drums are the truth, straight up.
Great Review as always and…
Bro. Joe, which gospel hip hop, urban, and contemprary artists have you worked with? I’d really like to hear some of your full tracks!
mainly underground or indy artists. Some of my older joints are up on http://myspace.com/anointedtracks
Those Antioch Alumni tracks I have, and REALLY enjoy, but I had never heard those other 2. Great Stuff Joe! I’ve worked with B.E.R.I.D.O.X. too. I’m glad that you too feel convicted when you use uncleared samples. Many other Christian Artist don’t have that conviction. I’ll use uncleared samples in my free stuff, but not my commercial stuff. ๐ Keep doing your thing for Christ Jesus Bro. Stay Blessed!
Oh you worked wit B too! lol…dope. yeah man, I figure there’s too much royalty free stuff out here to mess with not clearing samples lol.
Keep grindin man!
There’s other stuff I’ve done out there lol…
here’s one by my boy Readywritter…
