Reviewing RnB Soul Delite Keys from Motion Samples

26

Time to bring that sexy back baby!

Today I’m reviewing another sample collection sent over from motionsamples.com

This time we’re gonna sexy it out with some RnB style keys

What are R&B Soul Delite Keys?

souldeliteWell, I’m glad you asked yo! According to the website:

Motion Samples presents an extraordinary collection of R&B’s finest ep, rhodes, piano and keyboard melodies with over 200 extended loops mixed down with Eventide processors for the perfect reverbs, delays and fx.

Never before have we offered so many melody ideas in one collection presenting great musicianship and soulful warm keyboard tones that will inspire you endlessly.

Highly recommended for R&B songwriters and producers.

That’s all fine and good, but what do they sound like? What about variety?

They sound amazing, the loops are rather long so it gives you a lot to work with.

But they production is where it stands out, they really went in on the style of play in this collection.

There are tons of variations in the typical R&B styles. Everything from R&B bangers, to ballads, to soulful hip hop and even a lil pop.

You can do whatever you want with these and the musicianship is second to none.

I was definitely impressed with the variation from loop to loop and I didn’t get board at all, each loop felt like it could become it’s own song.

Sound quality was on point as usual, no clipping or distortion, not too loud so you have headroom to put them in your own mixes.

Okay, so what about the value on this collection? Will it break the bank?

3D chrome Dollar symbolThe short answer is NO. It comes in right at 40 bucks even, keeping it in the average price range for most pro level sample paks.

It’s still less than a full sample cd but don’t let that stop you, the quality and variety in this collection is well worth the price of admission.

Especially if you’re looking to get that smoother side of the R&B or Hip Hop into your tracks. The only way to even attempt to have some riffs and chops like this, is sampling from some of your favorite records, or hiring a keyboard player.

There is just no faking your way through a sound like this, very detailed and distinct, you really feel like just taking the loops as is, no chops, and building a song.

So what’s the final verdict?

5subsStraight up, no question, without a doubt, 5 out of 5 subs. Period. End of discussion.

A producer will be busy for months using these loops, like I said, each one is practically a song/track waiting to happen. The 200 loops are NOT variations of the same loop, in most cases each loop is a completely different idea, I really like that.

Instead of 4-10 variations of the same loop or riff, you get 200 different ideas to mess with.

This raises the stock in addition to the fact that the loops themselves are long, 4-8 bars or so, and very well produced.

It’s no question motinsamples aims to be a major player in the sample pack game for a long time…I’ve yet to come across anything form them I didn’t like, or would improve or do differently.

That says a lot.

So the next time you’re looking to sexy out your tracks, make sure you checkout the soul delite keys, trust me, you’ll love em.

    • Why? Their licensing is fine, the only one that is different is the B License or the C license for television stuff. The B license requires attribution and can’t be transfered, so only for your own beats I think, but they don’t have much in that category, like one thing. I just stay away from that one lol. Most of their stuff is License A which is your general royalty free license.

      License A

This license permits the use of our samples in demos, records, DJ sets, mixtapes, remixes, commercials, jingles, post productions, commissioned pieces, soundtracks for film, theatre, musicals and live performances. The sounds related to this agreement are transferable so you may sell your composition to a third party (such as an artist, producer, label) however this license does not authorize the use of samples to be resold in sampling CDs or any production music libraries.

    • Yeah, it’s always been like that. You probably read the license B info, which requires you to put “contains samples by motion” and you can’t use them in beats you’re selling, on in beats you’re using for yourself, group, or whatever.

I think they have ONE under that, the 70 funk joint…I just leave those alone so I don’t have to worry about it.

      License B

This license permits the use of our samples in demos, records, DJ sets, mixtapes, remixes, commercials, jingles, post productions, commissioned pieces, soundtracks for film, theatre, musicals and live performances. In order to validate this license you must credit us by including β€œcontains samples by Motion” on your album and sign a license B form found in your account. This agreement is only licensed to the name on the account and is not transferable to third parties. Anyone other then the original licensee must purchase their own copy.

Credits for websites, film or TV use isn’t required, except on soundtrack albums.

    • you WANT license B? Or you mean now you know what it is. I think most people will use the license A samples, they only have like 2 that are license B, I don’t really understand why they are different but they are.

License A you can do anything in your music you just can’t give/sell the samples. You don’t have to give them any credit.

License B you have to give them credit if your making music, you don’t have to do it if you’re putting stuff in film, tv, or web media.

It’s weird, but like I said there’s only 2 of them anyway lol.

        • @Chopz, each company gives you their agreements, you need to read them for each company so you are familiar with them. I’m sure you can email either one of the companies and they will reply, they are pretty responsive. Basically like anything else, you can’t sell the samples as is, you can use them in your music and sell your own music but you can’t sell them as part of other sample products, or any type of music gear, etc, most of the time. But always check with the company to have a better understanding.
