Back with a new review on the latest product from Output, REV X-Loops!
Let’s just dig in shall we?
What is X-Loops?
Well, if you remember my review of REV, then think of X-Loops as the loop engine from REV, refined, with new content, fx, and made into it’s own instrument.
So you got tons of great content as expected, with a customized interface that makes it super easy to go in and tweak your sounds instantly to create new textures and melodies.
You get stutter options, fx, filters, and even plenty of FX presets to start with if you wish.
Everything is handled from 1 single page so it’s very easy to use and understand.
On top of all of that, it’s auto-mapped inside of Maschine/Komplete Kontrol so you can instantly get hands on control of the sounds.

How does it sound?
Man the quality of their content is outstanding, even without doing anything to the sounds they sound great.
I found myself wishing I could play many of them as an instrument and not just a loop, really good stuff.
Once you start tweaking and messing with the fx it just goes into another realm, very quickly.
The FX they chose to include really compliment the library content, and gives you many different textures to work with. I also like how they included a variety of different types of content from drums and percussion, to industrial noises, ambiences, violins, bells, and more.
Overall it just plain sounds great!
So what’s the bottom line?
I think this is an awesome way to get into the Output style of instruments, you get to experience their quality and flexibility at a very affordable price.
I give REV X-Loops 4.5 out of 5 subs, I think it’s a super powerful instrument that intuitive and totally inspiring.
I’ve you’ve ever wanted to try their products, this is definitely a great way to get into it, but I must warn you, once you taste what Output has to offer, you will most likely be hooked 🙂
Not to worry, their other two products compliment each other as well, so it all fits into a nice toolbox of audio awesomeness.

so the komplete kontrol lets you utilize/reads other vsts than Native Instruments products ?
