Hey this is just a real quick video showing how you can use Battery 3 to load your Akai MPC kits and programs.
This is for those that don’t want or need something like Maschine or the new MPC Ren, but just want to be able to pull up all the kits they’ve made over the years in the MPC in their DAW of choice.
There’s no conversion, or no need to “import”, you simply double click on the program file and drag it into the Battery 3 window
In this video I show how it works with program files from the 2k, 2kxl, 3k, as well as kits I used on my 4000.
So, if you’re not looking for another sequencer/sampler type product and just want a straight forward drum sampler to open up all your kits from the MPC…Battery 3 can definitely handle that.
If you have any questions on other stuff like this just let me know!
When r u getting the Ren? Its pretty dope. Good info. Once again man.
Thanks for the knowledge of various things.
When the price goes down lol.
Nah, glad to help man, thanks for the comment!
Hey, But don’t you first Need to have the Kits already into your MAC?
All my MPC Kits are on my Zip Drive which is Built in the MPC.
You didn’t mention how can I first get those Zip Files in to my MAC
Yeah, I left that part up to you, each person has a different setup. You could look for a usb zip drive to hook up to your computer, some have floppy, some have flash cards, etc…I was just showing that it works.
Coolness as usual.
Thanks bro
SJ: A much “Thanks” for this tip. I do have Battery 3 & this will help a bunch.. “Another “Great” video from S&G.com.
Thanks for watching man as always!
I tried loading in some old S1000 samples and no go lol. I guess 2000 and later only?
They all imported nicely into Live 8 beta 64 bit though. They added themselves into samplers library so maybe I can make a drum rack from them??
yeah I think it’s more geared towards loading the pgm files, but I know it also loads akp files from the 4000 which is also the same as the s5k and s6k, maybe the s1k was too old LOL. You could probably make a drum rack or sampler instrument out of them.
Yup can do that, Some of the synths sounded great in Sampler. Do you know of any programs besides Live that I could straight up convert them to wav? S1000 files to wav I mean. Prob not but you never know! ;)I hope Live 9 will still support them?!?
Extreme Sample Convertor or Chicken Sys Translator can convert them, also CDXtract.
Thanks Man!
indeed!
