Sup fam, back with another Big Fish Friday
I’m checking out another library in the KLI series, which is basically construction kits formatted with a special Kontakt interface.
We gonna smooth it out with some jazzy goodness for the weekend
I’m checking out Suite Grooves 2
let’s peep it
So what is Suite Grooves 2?
It’s basically a large collection of smooth jazy, funk, and rnb style instrumentals and riffs.
Lots of live horns, keys, bass, drums, and percussion…to help you capture that real smooth jazz sound.
You even get the multi track drum parts for chopping or mixing however you wish…more flexibility is good.
Don’t forget the guitars as well…
anything you can think of when you hear the words Smooth Jazz…is most likely in here.
Quick Specs:
- content: 3.4GB
- format: apple, rex, wav, rmx, acid, kontakt
- price: $99.95
How does it sound?
This library really captures the smooth raw jazzy sound in my opinion.
I really dig the bass grooves, the keys, and the horns….especially the horns, very nice playing and recording.
I also like that you get individual drum hits with this library, so you already have some drums that fit well with the rest of the content.
It really would have been cool if there were a few multisamples from the bass, keys, and some of the horn instruments…
That could really round it out and make it a smooth jazz workstation
As usual the recordings are done well and have a nice quality to them
So what’s the bottom line?
If this was a “regular” sample library, it would be able to hold it’s own in the smooth jazz genre because the sounds and grooves are definitely silky
Being able to pull this stuff up in Kontakt for slicing, time stretching, adding fx, and everything else really gives it an instant usability.
You don’t have to use the loops, maybe you just want some jazzy kits, or a chord or two from one of the rhodes loops, it’s really fast to do that here.
I give Suite Grooves 2 a 4 out of 5, it’s really a quality library with great sound and many creative possibilities
I suggest going over to the Big Fish site and listening to more demos, also make sure you watch the KLI Series videos to learn more about the technology: http://www.bigfishaudio.com/detail.html?4;16;1:::::15:::D15::1670
Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think
i like the interface for these loops..u need full version kontakt or player?
@Mike, yeah, to use the interface you need the full version of kontakt, if you just want to use the loops you can just open them as normal wave files.
SJ,Big Fish has brought a complete jazz vst with this one. I’m buying Grooves 2 immediately. With the sounds available & adjustment controls, this is a MUST for a jazz fan like myself.(The tease on the pic helps too, lol). Another Great video & Great review from “S&G”.com.
@Baddboy2000, Yeah, I really like how they are bringing their libraries and turning them into actual instruments man, it’s dope. And this def got a great sound.

@tony, no doubt fam, glad you dig it, it’s a nice library.
Great sound library for great musicians
@Acst de Snhorw, yes indeed, it’s a nice collection
Is there a version with both Kontact and Acid, wav, apple loops? etc? Thanks
Not sure you may be able to get them all, usually the wavs are in the kontakt version though
I have heard tracks from the first release (audio suite grooves 1) being sold as whole songs on itunes.
Wow. You mean like an instrumental or people adding vocals over it?
No vocals. The demo tracks for each sample folder. For example, title: less mind more fun. Artist: Brian Berdwell.
Wow
I think it’s from the Leo Brito 2020 chill out lounge album.
