This time I’m checking out some cinematic guitar samples.

So what is Illusion?
It’s a collection of cinematic style guitar soundscapes, sound design elements, and textures.
Think ambiances, drones, evolving sounds, and fx.
No drums, no percussion, all tonal elements created from guitar source material.
It’s definitely something to consider if you’re looking for a bit of filler or background bed material.

How does it sound?
Again, if you dig ambiences, soundscapes, drones, and evolving textures, you’ll enjoy it.
What I like, is the fact that it was created from an acoustic/instrument source.
I always feel this gives a different vibe and texture to atmospheric elements when the source material is an actual instrument.
Despite all being guitar based, you get plenty of variety from amped to non amped versions, and soft subtle sounds to aggressive distorted licks.
You can do anything from gentle backdrops to hyper aggressive sound design with the same content.
I also like the variety of ways you access the content, from multi samples to single instrument loop patches, to sliced loops.
So what’s the bottom line?
If you dig sound design, soundscapes, textures, or just want something a little different to fill in the space in your tracks, check it out.
I give Illusion 4 out of 5 subs, there’s plenty of content to keep you busy, multiple ways to access it, and the KLI interface makes it quick to tweak as needed.
Of course you can still access the sample files directly for deeper manipulation should you find the need to do so
Overall it’s a great library for those in search of this type of content.

the kontakt version is full 4.2
my feeling is that some sounds are very good (harmonics, soundscapes), ther is some “natural” feeling in the disto chords and arpegio. I know what i could do with that bank and some preset would for sure fit my current projects.
