Hey what’s good fam, hope all is well with ya!
Today I’m back to show you a new collection of soul style vintage samples from patchbanks.com
Yes the very ones behind Soul Soup 1, Soul Soup 2, Soultown 1, and Soultown 2
Yall know I dig these types of samples and many people always ask me where to find some vintage style loops that are royalty free
Well…they sent over their latest collection so let’s check em out!
So what is Bootleg Cuts Vol 1?
You know the type of samples many beatmakers like to dig for?
You know, finding those smooth soulful grooves in dusty crates, throwing them into your favorite sampler, and chopping them up, only to put them back together into something new?
Well Bootleg Cuts V1 is like that…only there is no digging, there are no record players, and most importantly, no sample clearance issues!
It’s another collection of soulful vintage style grooves ready and begging to be chopped!
These are two track wave samples, not construction kits, no individual loops, these are straight grooves.
- content: 25 groove samples
- format: WAV
- price: 24.95 CAN (about $25 USD)
How does it sound?
As you know, I’ve been a fan of these sound designers for many….many years
They never fail to deliver and constantly come with a killer vintage sample product.
The grooves sounds like straight songs by themselves, really soulful and authentic, the musicians are outstanding!
I love that over the years they have listened to the customers and responded by producing much longer samples and not just short snippets.
This allows you to search and navigate within the samples to find the parts you want, as there is so much to work with.
They definitely capture the vibe not only in style but the quality of the sound puts you right into that sample digging mindset.
Don’t get me wrong though, there is nothing “lo-fi” about the sound at all.
So what’s the bottom line?
If you like to sample, if you like to dig, if you like to chop up soulful vintage sounds and repurpose them into new bangers….get this collection.
It’s pretty simple, the sounds speak for themselves and are super fun to work with.
I give Bootleg Cuts Volume 1 a 4.5 out of 5 subs, this is a really dope, well produced library and my only complaint is that there aren’t more samples!
Seriously, if you are a sample based producer….there’s no question if you should get this or not.
And while you’re at it, make sure you have their other vintage sample libaries….I’ve done reviews on pretty much all of them so far, so check those out too.
