Hey what’s good fam?
Today I have another educational resource that can help you learn how to mix your own tracks.
I’m a huge fan of Matthew Weiss, Pro Audio Files, and their mixing tutorial series.
This is the latest in a series of useful stuff, figured it would be a good one to checkout.
So what is Mixthru?
The concept behind Mixthru is not just about learning how to use different mixing tools, but it’s about seeing a real live mix from start to finish.
So not only do you get an idea of what type of tools to use, but you get to see how, when, and where to use them in order to get a better mix.
I think this is a great concept either on it’s own or as a supplement to the more topic-based tutorials they have (EQ, Compression, etc) because it lets you see the practical use of the ideas and concepts.
They also include the multi track files so you can practice on the mix yourself, as well as a copy of the first mix and the final master.
I think it’s a dope way to let you get an idea of how to take a raw track and find what it needs to get a good sounding mix.

So what’s the bottom line?
I dig their tutorials, they deliver them in a very easy to understand format that makes it useful and quick to apply to your own work.
Mixthru is no expection and I think it’s a great addition to their line of educational tools.
I give Mixthru Hip Hop 4.5 out of 5 subs, it’s a very hands-on way to learn how to apply various mixing techniques in a real situation.ย
