You know I’m an EP fanatic, and Neo Soul Keys has been one of my favorites since it was released

Well….there’s a new version of Neo Soul Keys out…

Since I loved the original so much, Jamal sent over the updated version for me to check it out…and I’m still in love

What is Neo Soul Keys 3x?

It’s the updated version of a dedicated Kontakt library for Neo Soul EP sounds

This version comes with the Wurli, Stage, and Suitcase EP

It’s a Kontakt Player instrument so you don’t need the full version to use it

And it’s designed to really capture the Neo Soul/RnB EP sound

How does it sound?

It sounds smooth, warm, gritty, and dope!

I love the sound of this EP library all around, it really captures the smooth soulful sound many of us love from an EP

You still get all the controls needed  to go in and quickly tweak your sounds right from the interface, and the controls make sense based on whichever instrument you’re using.

You can get a more bellish sound by adding more tine, more of a mechanical sound by adjusting the key up/down samples, and add more bark or dirt as desired.

The recordings of the samples sound great and being able to choose between clean or dirty, mono or “butter” and clean or tube saturated really gives you a lot of options

What’s the bottom line?

If you like warm, smooth sounding EPs, get it, period.

If you have the previous version of Neo Soul Keys, it’s worth the update to get the other two libraries as well as the updated samples/amps and impulses compared to the original.

I give Neo Soul Keys 3X an easy 5 out of 5 subs, it is still my favorite sounding EP library to date

I love the sound that it captures and they way that you can go in and tweak it yourself.

    Nice one! I got Neo-Soul Keys, but on the site I didn’t see any info on updating from that to this. Looks like they made this one a little easier on the cpu tho and it’s still the nicest EP out to me. Peace

    I may not play the keyboard, but when I do…I’ll choose Neo Soul Keys 3x *lol* But on a serious note this sounds lovely, I’m definitely putting some coins aside for when it drops. Not to mention his instructional series seems interesting as well, I might just pick up the beginner’s keyboard pack.

    Alright man, so which won would you honestly go w/ if you could choose 1 Saint Joe. Neo Soul 3x or to make it fair a package like soniccoutures newest Rhodes and Broken wurli? Which packaget gets your vote in that situation if you HAD 2 pick one to save the world. 3x or evp73+Broken wurli?????

      It depends if you want the most realistic sound or if you want the most options. Neo Soul 3x is my favorite, realistic sounding EP period. Soniccouture is awesome, sounds good, and it’s deeper in terms of options and sound design. If I had to have one, it would still be Neo Soul just because it sounds so authentic to what I look for in an EP sound.

    I’m late on replying on this, but I know when the funds are available, I am copping this IMMEDIATELY. The realism is crazy, and what Jamal did to it for that creamy sound is just bliss…
