Horror Sounds from Native Instruments Paranormal Spectrums

8

Today I am checking out another kore expansion module from Native Instruments

This is another pack for those that like the cinematic, horror, gaming type music elements.

This is not a bunch of keys and synth instruments….

let’s checkout Paranormal Spectrums

A freaky step into the dark side of sound and noise

What is Paranormal Spectrums?

How about horror you can play from your keyboard?

It’s a collection of 100 Kore instruments that are more like soundscapes and evolving textures specifically created to spark fear, terror, drama, etc.

It’s really geared towards movies/ video game sounds and atmospheres…..horror genre to be specific.

They used field recordings of random, abandoned, rusty objects and locations, then mixed that with the synth love of MASSIVE and Absynth….

Since these are Kore instruments, you have 7 variations instantly morphable with the Kore controller or software, as well as instant control to various parameters to inject more or less fear in your listeners.

Quick Specs

  • content: 100 sounds (800 variations)
  • format: kore 2, kore 2 player, komplete 7, komplete 7 elements, komplete 7 players
  • price: $79

How does it sound?

Man….like a nightmare….seriously

I can’t even lie to you, as I was going through these sounds, in my headphones, in the basement….alone….

I had to remember I was the one playing them, some of this stuff can get down right freaky, it’s amazing they went this deep with the library, and allow you to tweak it to your own desire.

To be straight, these are atmospheres, not instruments. ย These elements will fit great for that creepy intro for your next song, or the background atmosphere for the hero in your next blockbuster game or movie….as he/she walks into an old, rotten cavern, somewhere deep in a forgotten desert….filled with flesh eating zombie squirrels…

Okay…maybe not the squirrels…but that could be freaky!

You get the point, some very deep, complex sounds and sound beds going on. Very well recorded, very useful, and very on target with the style they are trying to capture.

What’s the bottom line?

Bottom line is I love this product, I love exploring sounds and I really love cinematic/film sounds.

There’s really nothing missing here, if anything I wish the collection was larger!

I give this a 4.5 out of 5 subs, it’s really good and the price is right for the quality

I can see using stuff like this for intros to albums, mixtapes, etc… so it’s not JUST for film/games but it’s definitely geared towards that.

If you like these types of sounds like I do, it’s definitely worth checking out for sure.
