Whatup fam!
Big Fish Friday….yep, let’s get it!
I was gonna post a video of a big fish…literally, for April fools but you know lol, we got work to do!
Today I’m checking out some guitar samples
so let’s get it
What is Pop n Soul Guitars?
This is a ย library dedicated specifically to guitar loops and licks.
The loops fit the styles of soul, rnb, and pop.
You get the amped versions as well as the direct versions so you can tweak to your liking.
These are just loops, you get various parts of the song broken down.
Verse, chorus, bridge, and outro…
which gives you a lot ofย flexibility.
Quick Specs
- content: 3.42 GB
- format: Wav, Apple, REX
- price: $99.95
How does it sound?
These guitars have a very clean/crisp sound to them.
I like the fact that you don’t just get the full loops, but various parts all broken out into both amped and direct versions.
The styles are pretty versatile but definitely stay in the soulful/rnb range, maybe a lil rnb/pop too.
I’m also feeling the fact that the loops are rather long, so you get a lot of options if you’re like me and choose to chop and slice things up.
The quality is what you’d expect from Big Fish, no random noises, hums, clicks, pops, or any other undesirable artifacts.
Straight clean recordings with lots of useful riffs and chords.
So what’s the bottom line?
I like libraries like these, I’m partial to libraries dedicated to one or more specific sounds and not so much the construction kit style of library.
So even though it says this library has 25 construction kits…it’s not what you think.
This basically means there are 25 different folders with different guitar performances or songs in them, completely broken down into their various parts.
There’s enough here to chop, and some of the loops contain nothing but the little fret noises and such that add extra realism, so it’s good to have that stuff isolated.
I like the library, wish there were a few more folders in the library, even though the content is deep, I think they could have added 5 to 10 more kits here.
I give this 4 out of 5 subs, great sounding with the proper styles and variety you can definitely use in rnb, urban, pop, and soul music.
Sometimes it’s hard to find really good guitar loops that aren’t the typical patterns and riffs, these have some nice flavor to them!
Definitely go on over and checkout the demos: Pop n Soul Guitars
leave me a comment below, let me know what you think
wut up st. joe hot review pop and soul guitars is a must have for me been looking for some long guitar samples for along time i agree 4 out of 5 subs that was a nice track you put together too i,m a keep digging you man for all the great info and will be joining maschine tutorial site son peace
@Tony, No doubt fam, thanks for watching. Yeah man, I try to uncover the gems out here in all these products, so much out here I just try to find the stuff I think folks can/would use. Def some good joints in here.
Thanks for the review, i was looking at this product.
Are you going to review The Rig when it comes out?
@Clean, thanks for watching, for sure I’ll be reviewing Rig, been waiting for it since I saw it at NAMM, that thing is gonna be nice from what I saw, the preview videos aren’t even really showing the fullness of it yet!
@saintjoe, Just pre-ordered my copy, maybe you can tell me about
those features in your review!
@Clean, you will enjoy it for sure.
I’m not joining the Maschine machine anytime soon, but great review as always bruh. Nice track as well.
@Echo, this post doesn’t have anything to do with the Maschine site lol, but thanks for watching man, these are some dope sounds.
When I saw the title I thought it would just be covering a modern take on guitars like something you’d hear on a Babyface record. But those first few loops and some of the others too appealed to me in old Chicago Soul (early solo Curtis) and Memphis/Stax kind of way. I could see flipping these modern or throwback style. Nice sounds, nice review.
@Metatron72, yeah, I thought it was gonna be more modern pop as well but you’re right it was more soul, which I like ๐
Nice post/review, I must say I’m one to usually pass up on guitar loops for some of the reasons that you’ve stated of most of them being “typical”. However this one I might have to put on the shopping list. Funny thing for some reason listening to you go through the loops I can’t help but get visualizations of a summer-night house party or a Colt 45 commercial (ahhh, yeah..does it every time -ala B.D. Williams-).
@Jamari, classic! yeah man, I’m the same way, usually guitar samples are just the same typical riffs but these have a lot of variations and the fact they are broken down really helps too. Lol @ the visual, those are classic commercials/visions lol.
Wow….very impressive…..
@Nick, thanks for watching!
Wats GOOD my man!
Likewise when I saw guitar for the review I felt a little deflated. But my spirits have been uplifted. After watching the review (which was good), some ideas have arisen.
\R/ baby.
Thanks
@everythingbutthegirl, lol, I feel ya! I’m the same way, you know I won’t do it if I don’t feel it lol. I thought these had a nice sound to them though.
Love tha sound of that guitar…thanks for showing. Let me know about some soul funk rhythms i can get my hands on.
@dj jambone, thanks for watching!! Soul funk, check big fish or loopmasters
Yo Joe that drum kit you’re using is that a sample pack or your own custom drums. If its a sample kit which one is and where can I get it.
@Pat of Jammdat, the kit is one I made from Big Fish Rotation hip hop sample library.
