What’s good fam, it’s Friday, you know what time it is!
Today checking out some funk soul horn samples
Let’s get into it!
So what is Funk Soul Horns?
This one is straight up funk and soul horns…literally.
No drums, no bass, just a bunch of live horn sections that are broken down into each element for flexability.
You also get some solo stuff, a bunch of solo riffs actually.
The section recorded is made up of 6 pieces…2 trumpets, trombone, alto sax, tenor sax, and bari sax
Quick Specs
- content: 2177 wav files (1.26gb)
- format: apple, rex, wav, rmx, acid
- price: $99.95
How does it sound?
Sounds live and funky yo!
Nah but for real, it has a nice full sound, the exact type of stuff many of us like to ssample and chop!
What I really dig though, is that along with the full section loops/riffs…you get each part of the section of that loop/riff.
So if you just want one of the saxes, or the trombone…go for it.
They have it broken down into about 10 “kits” and within each of those kits you have 10-20+ folders with section performances.
In addition to that, you have another folder in each of the “kits” that is full of separate solo performances on each instrument
This library has a ton of stuff that is recorded well and definitely captures the live funk/soul horn sound.
So what’s the bottom line?
If you like chopping funk and soul horns, or if you just like funky horn samples…check it out.
There’s not much to say other than this library delivers exactly what it promises.
I give this library 4.5 out of 5 subs, it’s really deep in terms of styles and content, but also has tons of flexibility to match the quality.
Anyone into hip hop, rnb, soul, house, disco, or any other type of music that can benefit from some soulful, funky, live, horn sections….really need to give this one a look.

@saintjoe, I’m about to go on tour and my time is limited. Do you sale your mappings for BPM 1.5 to be used on a Maschine Controller. If so, hit me @ gregoquin@gmail.com. Thanks…Great Videos!!!!
g
@Greg O’Quin, nah I don’t sell them, it’s hard to share because you can’t actually share the BPM mapping, only the Maschine tempalte. So you still have to go in and map it to BPM manually.
