Soundiron Tuned Artillery review

12

Hey what’s good fam, back with another review

This one is a little different

I’m checking out a percussion library from Soundiron called “Tuned Artillery”

Let’s check it!

So what is Tuned Artillery?

It’s a percussion library made from helmets, grenades, artillery shells, etc.

They were dropped, hit, rolled, struck with hammers, mallets, hands, etc.

They then took these recordings and created a custom Kontakt interface that allows you the ย control to tweak and adapt them to your own liking.

You even get an “Uberpeggiator” so you can create arpeggiated sounds with them.

Quick Specs

  • content: 3.14GB
  • format: Kontakt 4 or Kontakt 5
  • price: $59

How does it sound?

This library sounds pretty cool actually.

I like the fact that not only do you get the percussion portion, you also get some ambiances as well.

This always makes a library more useful to get weird and unique sounds created from the same source material.

The differences between striking a shell with a hammer vs striking it with a mallet is enough to give you some good variety

It’s a pretty straight forward sound with some unorthodox percussion sources

What’s the bottom line?

Sometimes it’s just fun to have weird sounds and sources to pull from

This isn’t a make or break library, but for those that like to experiment with different types of samples it’s definitely one to check out

I give Tuned Artillery 4 out of 5 subs, it’s a fun library with a bunch of useful samples as well as a very useful interface

Go on over to their website and check it out:ย http://www.soundiron.com/instruments/tuned-percussion/tuned-artillery/
