    • @xavier.p, yes, this is all that it has ever been, more like a continuation of 1.6 where everyone was complaining that they didn’t integrate their own plugins better when introducing plugin support.

        • @xavier.p, that’s cool. 1.6 wasn’t beneficial to some who don’t use plugins, can’t please everyone one with every update, I’m just happy they are showing development support to the product. I have so many that don’t, or that charge for very minor updates.

    • @Thomasgreco, they had that in an earlier version of 1.6, problem is not all plugins present their presets the same way, there is no standard, so you had “empty” presets being imported, etc. I would like to see it come back with the stipulation that it won’t work for every plugin, but it would be nice to at least be able to import all my presets from a certain plugin at once.

  1. All I want from the next up date is a more motu bpm like drum layering system. I love to stack drum sounds but I hate using group link and plugin’s for what I know Maschine should do. However, Maschine is still the best drum Maschine on the planet.

    • @Jamm-Dat Music, I hear ya, but it wasn’t announced for this update so don’t expect it. They know we want it, and they’ve been listening thus far, I would expect it to happen at some point.

  2. Hmm, leaning a tad heavy towards K8 which is understandable to an extent. However it gives me the impression that any previous versions of Komplete will be neglected even though some of those same products exist within K8. But who knows, it could be an “easter egg” of sorts. If that’s the case in good thought perhaps NI will release a plug-in database utility in which users could implement and share pre-set tags/macros (for NI and 3rd party items) among the community.

    • @Jamari, it will work with the updated versions of massive, fm8, absynth, reaktor, etc. Anything that isn’t getting a “number change” will work. So you can use the free updates to those engines from k7 and it will work. Of course without k8 you don’t get gr5 or kontakt 5, etc, but it’s cool ๐Ÿ˜‰

I would imagine they would start releasing updates for the “powered” instruments too, like Razor, Spark, etc. So if you have k7, you’re not “left out” you just dont’ have everything in k8, but what you do have, most of the synths, they will integrate once you update them with the free update in service center ๐Ÿ™‚

      • @saintjoe, say word! Now if they distribute a utility that will allow better user created tags/mapping for NI/3rd party vst’s that would hold a lot of us over until we can save some cash for K8 ultimate. Hey, a man’s got bills & tuition to pay…not like there’s a production deal w/my name on it *lmbo* ๐Ÿ˜€
But all in all, it’s nice to see NI is actually try to devise a happy medium for it’s customers (even though Kore is no more). To bad they didn’t create a discount structure similar to Image Line’s which could be based on company product already owned (i.e. Kore+Maschine+Komplete, etc.) This isn’t a cheap pursuit this beat making thing…but I love it anyway. *(it keeps callin’ me! -Mookie, New Jack City)

  3. Only thing about the teaser video, I can see people being confused and thinking because they have k6-7 they won’t get the preset features. But that’s not the truth. 1.7 will work with all the updates to those products from k7 the same way. Except for the exceptions that Joe pointed out. Considering the addition of vst support wasn’t long ago this seems pretty cool. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
