Big Fish Friday: Vintage Vocals

0

Funk/Soul productions is back with another vintage library, this time they aimed to capture the soulful, vintage, organic vocal styles from the 60s and 70s.

It’s a playable library, not a bunch of loops, so you can come up with your own chords and harmonies. It also has some built in a chord patches for instant harmonies as well.

Quick Specs:

How does it sound?

I think it captures the vintage soul vocal vibe pretty well. There are no phrases or phrase builder, so I see it fitting in as that extra seasoning in a track.

It could be useful for hooks, backgrounds, as a compliment to samples, and other situations where a subtle soulful vocal is needed.

I like that you get three different singers so you can mix and match based on what you’re looking for, or use them all on their own in different scenarios.

Overall with the instant access to reverb, eq, and envelope settings you can quickly tweak the sound as needed to fit your project.

What’s the bottom line?

This is a specialized library no doubt, however, if it happens to be what you’re looking for then I think it offers more flexibility than a collection of vocal samples/loops.

I give Vintage Vocals 4 out of 5 subs, I think it captures a specific vibe and gives you enough options to tweak and make the sound your own.

The chord patches were pretty cool, I think they could have expanded it a bit in that are to include even more preconfigured chord and harmony patches.

Overall it’s a dope product for anyone in need of organic, soulful, vintage style vocals.

Let me know what you think!
