Big Fish Friday: Origin Sound Fundamental Ambience

12

So what is Fundamental Ambience?

This is a sample pack dedicated to downtempo, chillout, and ambient styles.

It comes with MIDI, music loops, drum loops, drum hits, sfx and even a few synth hits for you to build your own patches with.

Oh, and there are some bonus presets for NI MASSIVE so you can play your own riffs and melodies to match the feel of the samples in the pack.

This isn’t a construction kit, you just get a good collection of sounds that you can mix and match or use as the spark for your next track.

Quick Specs

How does it sound?

There are definitely some useable sounds in here, I was most inspired by the musical loops myself.

They included some really dope chord loops featuring keys and synth pads, as well as melodic horn and flute riffs that were ready to be chopped.

Some of the drum and percussion loops were interesting, especially the more sparse sounding ones.

I also dig the fact that they included not only loops but one shot drum hits as well.

Oh yeah, the bonus MASSIVE presets were cool as well, there was a dope sub bass and some really cool pad and key patches.

So what’s the bottom line?

This is a cool collection of sounds if you’re looking for a quick infusion of chilled out ambient texture.

I give Fundamental Ambience 3.5 out of 5 subs, plenty of musical ideas to keep you busy with the added bonus of synth patches and one shot drums to round out the pack.

I think it would have been cool if the pack had a few more presets but overall I think it is a solid pack for the price.

Hey S.J. ! I see that it has 10 very cool massive presets. 10 massive presets is cool but, I wish it had ten times that!
Good raw material for people to “make it unique”.

I’m switching my akai to the kontrol 88 like you have this weekend. Need more keys all the time without using octave toggles.
