Big Fish Audio Cinematic Motion library review

Hey what’s good fam!

Back with another Big Fish Friday! This one was supposed to go up last week but…I didn’t get it edited in time and had to leave for a cookout ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, today I’m checking out a new cinematic/ambient style product called “Cinematic Motion”

Let’s get into it!

cinematic_motion_big_fishSo what is Cinematic Motion?

It’s a collection of musical pieces geared towards cinematic, film, and media produciton.

It’s focus is mainly on ambient and drone type atmospheres with a hint of brass, piano, synth, and sequence/pulse style melodies.

It comes in the KLI format for quick audition as well as manipulation through slices and various effects.

If you like atmospheric drones, synths, and rhythmic sequences then keep on reading.

Quick Specs

  • content: 2.7GB, 321 Kontakt patches (10 single instruments, 12 kit combos, 12 kit combo masters, 287 sliced loops)
  • format: Wav, Kontakt 4 or 5(KLI), Apple, REX, RMX, Acid
  • price: $69.95

So how does it sound?

Reel to Reel Tape RecorderThis one has a nice ambient/evolving sound to it.

Definitely heavy on the drones and ambient soundscape type of sounds, but you know I dig that!

I was surprised to see the inclusion of orchestral string and horn sounds as well.

There’s also plenty of synth textures with the pulse/sequences and general synth sounds as well.

No percussive elements, which is fine, I definitely enjoy the overall tone of the library, it would have been cool to have a few more horn riffs in there to mess with as they had a cool sound to them.

Overall the sound quality is on point, and the style definitely lends itself to film and cinematic production.

So what’s the bottom line?

If you dig slow evolving soundscapes mixed with sequenced synth lines this is surely something you’ll want to consider.

4subsI give Cinematic Motion 4 out of 5 subs, it’s a solid library that makes it easy to get the drones and textures you would look to employ when creating a cinematic or film style production.

Of course I feel the sounds can be used in whatever type of music you wish, so it’s not “just” for film composers, though that’s who it’s aimed at.
