I’ve got a new effect to share with you today from UVI
It’s called RELAYER and it’s a really creative delay plugin.
So let’s check it out!
What is RELAYER?
They call it a “precision creative delay” and that’s pretty much what it is.
It’s a multi-tap delay with multiple ways to modulate as well as add fx to your delays.
You can change the color, the level of feedback, and even directly control the level of each individual delay or “tap”
Not to mention the panning and timing can be manipulated as well.

How does it sound?
When it comes to an effect plugin, this is really the main thing for most people. I’m a fanatic about fx, but not in the way you may think.
For me, I don’t like to have a lot of FX on hand, I don’t like to use a bunch of different ones, so I’m constantly looking for that thing I can go to for whatever I need.
So I was definitely interested in checking out this delay as it came along right at the time I was looking for an all around delay plugin. I don’t like having a bunch of delays in my plugin folder, not to mention the analog delay which I use on my Rhodes.
This plugin sounds great! Even if you just use it as a regular delay/echo, it’s very flexible and creative.
The amount of control over each individual delay point is great, but it also works great for chorus and reverb fx as well as more wild special fx.
There’s no one specific sound either, thanks to the color option you can get everything from tape, to digital, to analog, to random devices, and they all sound great.
So what’s the bottom line?
If you’re looking for a super creative, intuitive, and great sounding delay plugin then you should definitely check this out.
Is it the “last delay you’ll ever need”? Well…it could be, depending on what you’re looking for. I will say for me, I don’t feel like there isn’t a delay style or effect I can’t get with this plugin.
I give RELAYER 4.5 out of 5 subs, it’s a great sounding plugin that is deeply powerful yet elegantly simple at the same time!
If you like to have detailed control over your delay tails, you should give this a try. Being able to control the gain on the individual taps is really useful.
If you like to experiment and even turn delay into more of a grain/diffusion cloud-like ambience….give this a try.
