Tone2 Electra2 Synthesizer review

6

Hey what’s good fam!

Back with another review, this time it’s another powerful synth from Tone2

It’s Electra2, and I’ve been wanting to get this review done for a while.

Let’s jump into it!

So what is Electra2?

electra2It’s a follow up to their  Electra X synthesizer. They’ve created a very powerful synth with a clean interface and multiple layers.

You get all types of synthesis from VA to FM, Phase Distortion, to sample playback and more.

Of course you get plenty of control over the synth with the arp, fx, and modulation sections.

And it comes with over 1200 sounds out the gate…so tons of content to go through, tweak, or you can roll your own.

Quick Specs

How does it sound?

Reel to Reel Tape RecorderTone2 products have a very high end/hi-fi sound to them, with plenty of rich tones and layers.

Electra2 has a great modern sound but can also do vintage if you like, and the various types of synthesis really allow you to get a variety of sounds from it.

You can get harsh leads, bellish tones, or even semi-realistic keys and guitar sounds, all from the same synthesizer.

One thing I really dig about it, is the multiple layers, this is really like having 4 separate synths in one so you can get some CRAZY movement by using the modulation and arp at different synth layers.

Even if you only use one synth layer, there’s 3 oscillators and you can mix and match the synthesis types so it’s really easy to see how quickly you can get creative with the sound.

Overall it has a great sound, for me when it comes to plugins like this, I really like to see how the pads and atmospheres are, and I was not disappointed at all. They were very airy and evolving tones with plenty of detail and lots of movement, all things that I love in a great pad or atmosphere.

The leads, arps, bass, and other sounds were all well done also, but you know me, I love some good pads and atmospheres!

So what’s the bottom line?

There are tons of synths out here these days, and which you gravitate to will really depend on how you like to work and your personal taste.

Me, I like something that sounds great, is powerful, but no too complicated to use, tweak, and navigate. Electra2 hits each of those desires with ease.

4andhalfsubsI give Electra2 4.5 out of 5 subs, it’s really a powerful workhorse synthesizer that sounds amazing and comes with tones of sounds ready to go or tweak as soon as you install it.

The fact that you can quickly import samples and have them automatically tuned really opens up the creativity even more, especially for those of us that like to work quickly but still enjoy coming up with our own sounds.

You don’t have to be a scientist to use this synth and get a great sound, and to me that’s a really powerful quality to have in a synth.

Go on over and check it out, don’t forget they have tons of expansions for it as well! https://tone2.com/html/electra2%20overview.html
