Splice Sounds Sample and Loop Subscription Service Review & Giveaway

12

Hey what’s good fam!

Got a new service I’m reviewing from Splice, called “Splice Sounds”

Now Splice is a platform for project backup and collaboration, but they also have other services like being able to purchase plugins, or sounds and samples as I’m showing today.

Let’s dig in!

So what is Splice Sounds exactly?

splice_sounds_downloadIt’s a monthly subscription where you get a set number of sample downloads each month.

You get access to the entire library and you can preview the sounds before you download them.

This is great for those of us that buy sounds all the time, but never quite use everything we get in a single pack.

This way you can go in, find exactly what you want, and keep it moving…oh yeah, it works on mobile too so you can get your sounds ready while you’re away from the lab!

Quick Specs

So what’s the bottom line?

I think this is a dope service, again, I’m sure most of us spend way more than this monthly for new sounds. Being able to go in and find exactly what you want makes it even better.

You can tailor the service to you, make your own custom sample pack downloads, tag your favorites, and download when you wish.

They’ve also got even more cool social things coming to the platform, since their whole concept is collaboration, I’m interested to see where it goes in terms of working with samples.

4subsI give Splice Sounds 4 out of 5 subs in it’s current state, it works well, has a clean interface, and has a lot of premium content.

I do wish there were more options for organization, as things could get messy while grabbing sounds from across so many products.

I also wish I could download everything in my favorites list at once, to save time.

The Splice app/downloader on Windows isn’t quick to close or minimize, so adding a button would go a long way to making it even more smooth.

That said, I think it’s really dope and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow.

Let me know what you think about this service/idea below.

  1. This is an excellent review, because “Splice” is the new way & style, when it comes to diggin’ for beats, samples, and sounds from any genre. For $14/month, this is by far the very best opportunity to get 300 samples of any type. You can always downgrade to $8/month for 100 samples, and then re-upgrade anytime…that’s how flexible “Splice” is. If you want to sit at the front of the class looking for drums, keys, strings, fx, and everything else…this will definitely be one of the smartest investments you’ll ever make…Peace, Henry.

  2. This is DEFINITELY going to be useful!!! Great review, Joe! I wonder if other sources like BIG CITI LOOPS or PRODUCERS LOOPS will sign on or start their own plans? It sure beats buying a bunch of tracks that I don’t get full usage from, just to get a few that I need.

    • Yeah it’s cool, not sure who else will be jumping on board but great idea for sure. I’ve seen others like it in the past (mvp loops) but the layout and way it works is really dope.

  3. I dig it man! I signed up with code (thanks for that!) And I really like it so far! I’m with you though, it would be nice in the process of making custom packs to be able to download the whole thing at one time.

On a side note, I received an email the day after signing up from their support asking if I had questions or needed help and I responded asking a few questions. It’s been almost three days with no response so that is a little disappointing. Outside of that, I really enjoy being able to grab samples alacart and the content available is great so far. Hopefully they keep adding new content regularly.
