What is Very Sick Keys?
It’s a new sample collection made up of original EP, Piano, and Clav licks and riffs.
It’s also got some oneshot samples for mapping out your own instruments, as well as some drums, bass, and bonus construction kits.
The concept is this…
JFilt makes sick beats, JFilt has a YouTube channel, viewers always comment on how dope JFilt’s keyboard playing is, so JFilt puts together a sample library for those of us that want to have sick keys like JFilt
That about sums it up!

How does it sound?
It has a very, “I made this for a beat” vibe to it.
Meaning, it doesn’t feel like it was “made for giving away” if that make sense? Many sample library have good riffs but they still feel like they were made for a sample library, they are “safe”.
These riffs and loops feel like a good keyboard player just sat down and started playing as if he were about to lay down some keys on his own tracks.
You get everything from smooth and jazzy to funky and even a lil bit of gospel style thrown in.
I like the mixture of organ, ep, acoustic piano, clav, and harpsichord, definitely gives you some variety in sound.
The inclusion of the oneshot samples was really cool, it allows you to load them up in your favorite sampler and create instruments or even take a single note and spread it out across the keys in some cases.
Overall it has a nice organic sound to it.
So what’s the bottom line?
I hear a lot of sounds from day to day, so it’s easy to become bored or jaded, what I dig about this library is that it doesn’t sound like “me too” he definitely put his own style into it and wasn’t afraid to just riff on the keys.
I give Very Sick Keys 4 out of 5 subs, there are some very useful riffs in there, and the addition of the oneshot notes shows that this dude is definitely an MPC vet (anyone that has been making beats with pads for a long time knows how powerful single notes can be!)
Support the small developers so we can get more products from them, and while you’re at it pick up his Hip Hop Chord book which shows various chords you can play on 16 pads. I bought it as soon as I started going through this kit, there’s some good stuff in there.
