I bought Beat Thang Virtual and it’s fun BUT the instrument samples need work.
If you hold the keys down you’ll find that the samples are not properly looped.
I hope they fix this in an update. This unit has major potential.

Keep doing your Thang Saint Joe!

I agree, it’s definitely nothing like Kontakt or anything like that lol… it’s definitely aimed at making beats ie, short notes lol… they are supposed to be fixing that though.

I find it’s more of a sample into the machine and spread the notes than a proper multi sample type of setup… what do you think?

That’s how I see it anyway lol.

    Kam Reply:

Yep! I appreciate what Beat Kangz are doing: Making a machine that’s easy to get
your beats down. But after your Maschine video post…Beat Kangz will have their work cut out. Beat Kangz drums are the best in the industry but when they fix those instrument samples then it’ll be up to par.

    God Bless,
    Kam

  5. baldangryman says:

I like the simplicity of the beatmaker but you could give him some pots and pans to play on and he could make a hot beat. At least it doesnt come with a bunch of filler sounds that arent useful at all. im thinking about trying it

    saintjoe Reply:

heck yeah man lol, he can make hits on anything lol.. he’s been making hits for years! The thang def has some great sounds, they are some great sound designers.

  8. Stak says:

So what all comes with the Beat Thang Virtual? Is every thing run through the program?

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

Not sure what ya mean? It comes with the software which includes the sounds as well, they also send it to you on a usb key, plus all the bonuses they are giving away right now like membership to Roc’s site, etc…

  9. JRock says:

Man, that only pushes me more to get a bigger keyboard, more gear and start doin work!

That is sick. Wish I could be in that studio.

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

hahaha, yeah no doubt. Remember in this vid, he was just using a midi controller connected to a computer…that’s enough to cause some trouble lol, you don’t need huge rooms full of gear anymore with all the software out, but sometimes it’s fun to have that stuff too!

  10. CRAIG says:

beat was ok dnt think i cop one tho i stick to my motif xs6

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

Motif is a great piece of gear, this definitely doesn’t replace that.

  11. blackatus says:

yo that was phat but i think macshine and good keyboard will give it a run for the money

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

well, having both, I will say that they are two different beasts. Maschine is much more advanced and involved, plus it has the hardware controller.

However, when the beat thang hardware drops it may be more of a comparison, though their hardware will be 999, it will be an actual hardware instrument…you’ll be able to work on something in the software, drag it to the hardware, and take the hardware with you…

it will have a rechargeable batter in it lol, and hold two 32gb sd cards…

I’m excited about the hardware, the software is cool and their sound design is nice, especially the drums and riffs.

  12. Metatron72 says:

The Beat Kangz are trying to show the software has dope stock sounds, judging by the ‘Mary’ track, mission accomplished.

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

agree, they was just showing it comes wit some dope sounds, which I agree, I love the drums in that thang lol.

I watch that and feel real small man, those is some heavy weight beats!!!! Some day people will be watching me do like that in the name of JESUS!!! Thanks for the video S.J.

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

Hahaha lol, I feel ya man, no need to feel small though, he’s been at it for years, he’s a pro. Good stuff.

  14. Kam says:

Mr. Snoopy I like what you saying about making beats in the name of Jesus!
The rap game needs some major MAJOR redemption!

I hope Beat Kangz are reading these post. The Beat Thang has the potential to rock the world.

Man this shit is looking good!
you sayin the hardware is gonna cost $999? dayyum… but is it gonna sync with the software like maschine does, BUT also be hardware as well? If so, that would be fucking amazing.

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

Yeah fam… it’s going to be a fully portable hardware machine, but it will also work seamlessly with the software. You can start on the hardware, then transfer when you get home, or start on the software, move it to the hardware and take it with you…

I can’t wait for that joint.

im just now starting making beats…how good a program is this for starting to make beats?

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

this is a good program if you’re just starting out, pretty simple and not a lot of options to get in the way. I use a bunch of different programs based on what I need, but this one has it’s place in my setup as well, especially since it’s pretty quick to use.

    [Reply]

  18. ant-on-tha-beat says:

and i wanted to know if not this program than which would u recommend me to use?

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

I suggest trying as many as you can, btv will definitely be a good start and it’s not to pricey, if you want to use vst plugins and stuff then you may want to look at flstudio or ableton live intro.

  19. jold school says:

drums sound to die for but the instruments need some work but for $149.00 what do you expect it take a lot of work to do multi samples.

    [Reply]

    saintjoe Reply:

yeah, it’s definitely not going to replace something like Kontakt lol, but the drums and riffs are cool and the instruments can work.

all the wavs are there too, so a person can build their own instruments, I’ve started doing that actually.
