Whasup yo! This is a perfect way to step ya game up this summer, the folks over at Nova Loops doing a MAJOR beat contest.
The contest starts 7/4/2010 and goes through 10/4/2010
So what can you win?
- 1st Place – $1,000 cash & $750 Nova Loops Shopping Spree
- 2nd Place – $500 cash and $500 Nova Loops Shopping Spree
- 3rd Place - $250 Nova Loops Shopping Spree
You’ll also have the chance to secure a new producer contract with the Nova Loops crew. Yes, that means you get paid to make products for release through Nova Loops. Of course it’s up to them who they choose to give contracts to, it may be only the top 3, or not…so submit your best heat!
Oh yeah…if you like to steal/illegally download sounds and samples, don’t even bother to enter, that is automatic disqualification.

Wats good man, so to enter this you have to use their sample packs in your beat then? You can’t just use your own plugins and stuff?

@Kruz, no, it’s for customers of nova loops, you can buy any one or more of the packs to use, plus they just sent out a code for 30% off sale too.

Hey Joe, can you use original melodies and instruments in the records and use just drum loops from the kit for example? in other words do all parts of the beat need to be from the novaloops packs or can I grab a few kicks snares and use live instruments as well

@Flip, you may have to go over to nova site and ask them, I believe it has the be all done with their samples, but I could be wrong. Don has answered a few questions so far, so I’m sure he’ll come back and answer this one too.

@Flip, As long as you use any elements from the qualifying products for the contest, you can add in your own sounds, samples, or live instruments.

cool ill check back here for a day or so first an then head over there if anything, i grabbed a sample pack from them since u posted this and I liked what i heard, not usually a sample pack guy but I couldn’t resist the RnB drum loops they had an the 30% off

@rick, yeah you can use your drums, just use an element or two from one of the qualifying packs and you’re good to go.
I won’t be entering, it would be a conflict of interest for me since I’m friends with the owners lol.
