Echo Sound Works Urban Legends Ultimate review

Hey what’s good fam!

Today I’m here with a new collection of sounds from Echo Sound Works

The product is called “Urban Legend’s Ultimate”

Let’s check it out!

urbanlegendsultimate

So what is Urban Legend’s Ultimate?

It’s a huge collection of patches for MASSIVE as well as drum library, and even a piano library for Kontakt.

The whole concept of the library is to provide you a toolkit that inspires you with many useful sounds for urban production.

You get bass, leads, pads, keys, fx, dope drums, percussion and more.

Think of it as a creative spark to get your urban juices flowing so to speak.

Quick Specs

  • content: 260 Massive patches, 165 drum samples, MPC Keys Kontakt instrument
  • format: WAV, Massive, Kontakt
  • price: $39
  • product page: http://www.echosoundworks.com/#!urban-legends-ultimate/c1wvj

How does it sound?

Reel to Reel Tape RecorderThis collection definitely has a contemporary Urban vibe to it, probably even a bit of RnB and Pop mixed in as well.

There are some thick basses, fat leads, airy pads, and smooth keys, as well as a nice collection of fx.

The included drum samples are dope and definitely could stand on their own as a dedicated drum library.

The MPC Keys instrument is a straight forward sounding piano,  the idea behind it was to give you a usable piano that had it’s own character, a bit “lo-fi” or “imperfect” since it was purposfully sampled through an MPC.

The entire library is definitely aimed at Urban or Hip Hop producers, but you find plenty of sound to cover many areas of modern music production

So what’s the bottom line?

I think overall this is a nice collection of urban sounds that allows you to easily find something useful for your own productions.

4subsI give Urban Legends Ultimate 4 out of 5 subs, the Massive presets have lots of options for tweaking, the drums bang, and the piano can be useful if you’re going for a little more “unpolished” sound.

It’s always cool to showcase newer developers, Echo Sound Works has been around for a little while now, at least over a year since I first used any of their products, and they’ve done some sound design for a few other products on the market as well.

I suggest checking out the website for yourself: http://www.echosoundworks.com/#!urban-legends-ultimate/c1wvj

They have other patch libraries, and a couple of drum libraries as well.

This bundle has some surprisingly usable sounds in it, about 276 of them waiting to be tweaked. Thanks for the review or I wouldn’t have known about it. Anyone reading this check out ADSR Sounds where it’s and other presets are currently on sale. There’s some nice presets going for $5, so get two if you’re feeling guilty. lol
