Biolabs: Light Space for Camel Audio Alchemy review

8

Hey what’s good fam?

Today I’m reviewing a new library for Camel Audio’s Alchemy called Biolabs: Light Space

So let’s check it out!

So what is Biolabs: Light Space?

LightSpace-MediumIt’s a collection of soft, ambient, evolving style instruments, pads, rhythms and effects.

The first word that comes to my mind when I think of this product is “fluffy” or “airy”.

So if you can imagine a collection of sounds for Alchemy in that style, this would probably be it.

Of course you can still tweak and morph the sounds as with any other presets directly in Alchemy or using the iPad app to control it.

For the record…I love their iPad app!

Quick Specs

How does it sound?

Reel to Reel Tape RecorderOK, so by now if you’ve been around for any amount of time, you know I love ambient, evolving, atmospheric sounds.

This product has tons of that. Everything has a really light and airy feel to it.

I also love that even though it’s more on the softer side, when using the remix and x/y pads you can also conjure up some nice aggressive sounds with ease.

The amount of content you get and just the number of variations for each sound really takes the possibilities in a whole new direction.

That’s one of the things I love about Alchemy, with each sound you feel like you get at least 6-8 sounds in one using that remix pad.

I think for me I loved the pads and atmosphere/soundscapes the most. Though some of the rhythmic sounds had a nice touch of lushness to them as well.

Overall the sound quality is really good, and it gives the “light” character I was expecting.

So what’s the bottom line?

I really like what Camel Audio does with their expansions, you really feel like you get a nice bang for your buck with these things.

4andhalfsubsI give Biolabs: Light Space 4.5 out of 5 subs, it definitely gives you a quick infusion of light, airy, ambient sounds at a price that’s easy to swallow.

The fact that you not only get 75 sounds, but also 600 variations when you consider each sound can be “remixed” on the fly…that’s a lot of sonic territory to explore!

Match that with the power of the Alchemy engine itself, and throw in an ipad for mobile control and you have a great library that you can interact with on a very unique level.

I dig it, I suggest you watch their videos and listen to the demos…or….just go pick it up for yourself! http://www.camelaudio.com/Biolabs-Light-Space-Sound-Sample-Library.php

  1. I picked up a couple of their packs on a BOGO last month, best money I’ve spent on sounds in a while! Quality from top to bottom. And you are 100% correct about the remix pad, it is like getting 8 sounds for every one preset!
