Back with another Big Fish Friday!

It’s been a few weeks, things have been hectic, but you know there’s still plenty of fresh fish waiting to be discovered.

Today I’m checking out a new product from MVP Loops called “Sound World”

Let’s check it!

So what is Sound World?

It’s a collection of sounds made together with Ready for the World, and it sports the new VLX interface for Kontakt.

This is a new sample interface that allows you control over each sound via 4 banks of 16 pads. You get effects, note repeat, filters, and of course timestretching.

The library itself is full of urban, rnb, and even vintage throwback style samples.

So think of it as a construction kit or sample library with it’s own new interface ready to load up in your favorite daw, or Maschine, whatever you choose, ready to be manipulated.

How does it sound?

There’s a lot of content here, and a variety of styles covered.

Some of the things that stood out to me were the live bass, live keys, and live guitar licks, really have a nice authentic feel to them.

There were also a nice collection of strings and deep sub bass, as well as plenty of synth leads and pads.

There were drums in each kit as well, my favorites probably come from the the west coast themed folder, nice hard kicks and snappy snares.

I think the vintage throwback section of the library really gives it a different vibe than expected, and I think it adds a nice contrast to the more contemporary styles with a focus on live instrumentation.

Overall the styles are very well played and there is a ton of content to keep anyone busy, especially with all the tweaking you can do from the interface.

So what’s the bottom line?

This is a solid collection of urban sounds that any producer can find useful, and I think the new V.L.X. interface is pretty cool giving you a totally different way to audition and use your sample libraries.

Overall I give Sound World 4 out of 5 subs, I feel there is plenty of diversity to keep you digging with riffs and licks that show the true musicianship that went into this collection.

I’m looking forward to seeing what else they release in this format, as having instant access to your samples in a way that will allow you to work with them at any tempo you wish on the fly is definitely something useful for many people.
