Today I’m checking out a new Kontakt synth instrument from Wave Alchemy called Bass Pedals

So what is Bass Pedals?
It’s a new custom Kontakt library inspired by the Moog Taurus bass synthesizer.
The library has it’s own custom interface which makes it very tweakable as a synth itself.
It aims to capture the deep, analog sound of the Taurus synthesizer family.
The library runs in the full version of Kontakt 4 or 5 and is not a Kontakt Player instrument.
So you get the classic analog sound source coupled with modern sound shaping parameters in a sexy Kontakt interface.

How does it sound?
I’m always interested, and even a little doubtful when someone says they have captured the analog sound in a library or plugin, however, I can’t deny the sound of Bass Pedals.
With this library, I can compare it directly to a hardware synth from the Taurus family, since I own the Moog Minitaur, I’m very familiar with how it should sound.
Sure the Minitaur may not be the exact synth they sampled, but the qualities and characteristics are very similar and I must say this library captures that deep, thick, analog tone very well!
From smooth sub basses to rugged saw bass patches, this is a really well sampled and programmed instrument.
It delivers on the sound it aims to capture, and gives you plenty of tools to tweak and alter the sound directly in the interface.
The raw sound along with all the finely programmed patches make this a very powerful analog bass instrument.
What’s the bottom line?
Well the truth is, if you want that “moogish” analog bass sound, specifically, the Taurus sound, I can’t see looking any further than this on the software side of things.
I feel like they really capture the unique character and tone of the synthesizer and turned it into a real instrument, not just a simple sound playback device.
I give Bass Pedals 4.5 out of 5 subs, it has a really awesome interface to go along with it’s amazingly deep sound.
This is the second analog synth library that Wave Alchemy has produced and I’ve been equally impressed by both of them, they really know how to capture the character of the raw sound and turn it into an actual instrument within the Kontakt interface.

Man they really captured the sound in this one, it sounds really close to my Minitaur, has the same analog character, I was pleasantly surprised.
i’ll be grabbing this one… sounds real good…i had it running through my system and you could hear the subs real well – had to turn down lol
Man they really paid attention to detail, you can hear it. And I know you’re familiar with the Moog sound, even though the Taurus series is a little different than the others, will say it does sound like my Minitaur.

This is a Kontakt library only it will not work within UVI.
